Microsoft is planning to bring two new versions of Xbox of its own. The first will be the smaller but cheaper version of the Xbox One, and according to a report by Kotaku, another version named “Scorpio” is to be launched next year. The 2017 version of Xbox will have a more powerful GPU reportedly capable of handling an Oculus Rift, according to some people familiar with the matter.
The new version, which will release next year, will expect that it should have at least a 2TB hard drive, which is double the capacity of its existing hardware, and a GPU capable of handling 4K and VR but the same I/O transfer speed which could lead to hellish load times for gamers.
Microsoft is making a deal with Oculus that could make this a reality, as suggested by the report of Kotaku.
