Starting February 20, Microsoft will end the push notification service for the devices running Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 and 8. The company announced this on February 19, noting that the platforms are no longer supported, which directs it to discontinue services.

No more push notifications mean that the devices with OS Windows Phone 7 and 8 will not receive notifications anymore. Live tiles will not receive updates either, and neither will the ‘find my phone feature work. This is understandably a push from Microsoft to the users to turn to Windows Phone 8.1 and 10.

According to the company, this change will not affect the devices with 8.1 and 10 of course. But it is apparent that when these platforms have support ending, the services will be stopped. The company hints that other services for 7.5 and 8 will be stopped over time.
