Good news for Windows Mixed Reality users! According to Rolling Stone, Microsoft is thinking about making SteamVR games accessible to Windows Mixed Reality users by the coming week.
Microsoft has announced November 15 as the preview program’s launch date for SteamVR titles. This will allow the owners of VR headsets to check out games before Microsoft releases the finalized version. It is actually kind of a test run for the software.
The SteamVR support for Windows Mixed Reality is expected to link the headsets to the games directly from the Steam store. This will provide Microsoft’s VR headset support for many more titles. As of now, there are approximately 60 applications and games that Windows Mixed Reality headset owners can access from the Windows Store. Many of the top VR games are available only through SteamVR.
Microsoft has yet to declare the date for making this SteamVR support available as a non-beta feature. Frankly, this preview is being opened up by the company for the sole purpose of discovering the bugs and fixing them before it’s released officially.
