On October 2, in New York City, Microsoft announced the first refresh of its Surface Laptop since it was originally launched and all new processing components, the all-new Surface Pro 6 and the Surface Laptop 2. According to them, both comprise the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processors faster than ever.
The Surface Pro 6 will support quad-core processors, with a new matte black finish, and it feels and looks very similar to the original Surface RT and Surface Pro. Other than the finish, the outside of the device hasn’t really changed all that much.
It has a screen of 12.3 inches and is equipped with a camera of 8 megapixels. The device comes available in gray and black. It is also equipped with a storage capacity of 16 GB, which can be expanded with an SD card of 1 TB. The Surface Pro 6 is equipped with an eighth-generation Intel quad-core chip. According to Microsoft, Surface Pro 6 is two third faster than its predecessor, the Surface Pro. According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts for more than thirteen hours.
Whereas the Surface Laptop 2 is rather striking, it has a stealthy finish and is assured to be a lightweight product. Aside from the new finish, Microsoft says the keyboard is redesigned to be quieter and easier to type on. It soldiers on with the single USB-A, Mini Display Port, and Microsoft’s Surface Connector port for power and docking.
The Surface Laptop 2 will come with a screen of 13.5 inches. According to Microsoft, the laptop is 85 percent faster than its predecessor. Just like the new Surface Pro 6, the Surface Laptop 2 can also be purchased in the US from October 16th.
The Surface Pro 6 will be sold for $899 from October 16th, while the Surface Laptop 2 will be available for at least $999 in the U.S.
