Today, Panos Panay, Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Devices, announced that Surface Pro with LTE is going to be made available for business customers. The announcement at Future Decoded 2017, London, is coming following the first unveiling of Surface Pro LTE in May.
The Surface Pro features a Cat 9 modem, making it the fastest LTE-enabled laptop in its class. Furthermore, it delivers global connectivity, which has a backup of 20 cellular bands, and this again makes it ideal for frequent travelers across countries.
Microsoft has not officially revealed yet which configurations will incorporate LTE Advanced in Surface Pro. As for the consumer customers, it will not likely be available until 2018. Microsoft via its Surface Pro product page, earlier said that the availability can be enjoyed from spring 2018, although the reference is now removed.
Microsoft’s notion is that the computing future surrounds majorly by mobiles. Therefore, products having LTE support capabilities are becoming increasingly essential nowadays. People are working from different places, not just a fixed offices, but also home, coffee shops, or even cars! Microsoft has faith in LTE for its endorsing ability to consistently inspire people to stay productive.
