Today Microsoft finally announced that the update for Windows 10 is to take place in April 2018. Microsoft has been testing the next feature update for Windows 10 since 31st August 2017. The code name given was Redstone. After receiving many negative comments on Fast Ring for testing, Microsoft never really released any details about the new update.
Microsoft will include many new features in the new update April 2018 update. The most famous and noteworthy is the addition of Timeline. The new update is bent on making working on the computer a lot easier for everyone. The addition of Timeline will warrant it. The timeline will provide its users with a backtracking process which eventually will allow them to find documents and files that they were working on and even find an older version of that document.
Microsoft has taken a great initiative by deciding to improve Microsoft’s internal Edge browser. It should be noted that after the update, Microsoft will be able to support progressive web applications or what is commonly known as PWA. Another feature they have added is Near Share, similar to Apple’s AirDrop. It will enable the sharing of content between Microsoft 10 PCs. This feature will not be available on the Windows Phone since Windows has neither announced nor planned any update for the mobile devices. Microsoft has been working on this kind of update on iOS and Android with the help of its mobile Edge browser and Photo Companion.
The Microsoft Update Assistant or Media Creation Tools users will receive the Windows 10 April 2018 update on 30th April.
