Since its release in September 2020, Genshin Impact has taken the world by storm,  making it one of the most profitable video games in the RPG industry. As reports have revealed the mobile version of the game has raked in over $3 billion in revenue, and it’s still going strong.

While the game was initially planned to be marketed toward mobile platforms, the PC and console versions have also proved to be hugely popular. Fans of the game have been wondering if there is going to be a Nintendo Switch version of the game as well, and we finally have an answer.

When is Genshin Impact Coming on Nintendo Switch?

The developers of the free-to-play open-world role-playing action game had previously revealed that they were working on a Switch version, but players feared that it might have been scrapped or postponed indefinitely, just like the Genshin Impact Update 2.7 which is taking a long break due to the current pandemic situation in Shanghai.

However, MiHoyo’s PR specialists have been reassuring in confirming that the Nintendo Switch version of Genshin Impact is “still in development”, and that more information will be released, specifically about the Switch beta testing and launch date as soon as it is available.

Nintendo Switch Version of Genshin Impact is Still in the Works

There is no doubt that Genshin Impact will only grow in popularity by reaching another audience for players through the release of the  Nintendo Switch version, adding to its success of being one of the top-grossing games, and it hasn’t even crossed its second birthday.

The Nintendo Switch is immensely favored as well, as the Japanese platform for gaming has sold over 100 million copies since its launch in March 2017, according to a Nintendo spokesperson. With these two powerful forces aligned, there is a favorable outcome is expected.

Genshin Impact will have the third phase of update 2.6 this May, to prepare for the presumably massive update coming in patch 2.7 which has been delayed. However, players have received hefty compensation in the form of in-game rewards, along with the additional content of Phase 3, to keep them happy and busy.
