- Arch-Tempered Arkveld arrives as a brutal endgame challenge with exclusive armor and upgrade rewards
- Limited-time event quests introduce rare materials, cosmetics, Zenny, and Hunter Rank boosts
- Capcom confirms long-term support, including a first-anniversary update and a major expansion in development
Monster Hunter Wilds players have something new coming very soon. Capcom announced via social media on Feb 18th that there would be a new game content update coming soon, which will include a new, harder version of Arkveld, new event quests, as well as new rewards for players who have been playing the game before this date (arc authorized).
Capcom also shared some insight on their plans, which include an anniversary update (for their first year of existence) and an upcoming expansion that they are actively working on. This update is essentially about making fights more difficult for players to complete, giving players a chance to obtain superior items, and providing long-term support.

Arch-Tempered Arkveld Is the Main Highlight
The biggest part of the February update is Arch-Tempered Arkveld. Players who know Monster Hunter games already understand what “Arch-Tempered” means. These monsters are not for beginners. They move faster, hit harder, and give very little room for mistakes.
Arkwell was already a tough monster in Monster Hunter Wilds. This new version makes the fight even more intense. Capcom has clearly designed this hunt for players who have reached the endgame and want something challenging.
Event Quest With Special Rewards
Arch-Tempered Arkveld will appear through a limited-time event quest. This means players need to complete the quest while it is active. Finishing the hunt gives access to special armor and upgrade materials. These rewards are not available through normal missions, which makes the event important for serious players.
New Event Quests Added in the Update
There are additional quest events being added with the update for the game on the 18th of February. The purpose of these is to entice players to come back to the game regularly as opposed to all at one time. Players will be able to earn extra crafting materials, cosmetic items, Zenny, and Hunter Rank increases through the completion of these events.
The event system has been utilized by Capcom for many years now and generally seems to work effectively, keeping people playing; it motivates players to continue logging onto the game repeatedly.
First Anniversary Update Already Planned
Capcom has indicated that they’re making an anniversary update for Monster Hunter World, which has only been out for a little while. Noisy Pixel and RPG Site sources have verified that the Anniversary planning will include:
- New temporary rewards
- New special quests
- New content to celebrate the community

There is no current confirmation on dates or specifics for each event, but early development plans indicate that Capcom intends to support this product for an extended period of time
Large Expansion Is in Development
Another important update is about the game’s future. Capcom has unveiled that a major update for Monster Hunter World is upon us. VGChartz reports that this will be a substantial DLC, in the same vein as Iceborne and Sunbreak from some recent editions of Monster Hunter.
What the Expansion May Bring
Capcom hasn’t provided much of an update at this time, but there have been some clues as to what players can expect based on previous expansions.
The new expansion should have additional regions (with their own unique bosses), many new monsters, weapon and armor options, and new story content to play through! Reports also suggest that the expansion could be revealed during the summer.
Why This Update Matters
This update shows that Monster Hunter Wilds is not being treated as a short-term game. Arch-Tempered Arkveld gives experienced players something tough to fight, while event quests help casual players stay involved. At the same time, confirmation of a large expansion builds trust with the community. Players know now that their time in the game will not be wasted.

Monster Hunter Wilds Is Set for Long-Term Support
Capcom has a strong history with Monster Hunter updates, and Wilds seems to be following the same path. With the February 18 update, upcoming anniversary content, and a big expansion already in progress, Monster Hunter Wilds looks ready for the long run. For players, it is clear. The hunt is not slowing down anytime soon.
