Mozilla is one of the most popular web browsers worldwide. Its passionate users have often expressed insecurity during file sharing on the basis of incidents like the 2012 breach. Of course, you don’t want hackers to grab and delete your shared files!
Mozilla came up with a solution regarding this by introducing an experimental website named Send. This website lets one user send files as large up to 1GB without feeling insecure.
Your shared files will stick around for 24 hours and will be automatically deleted right after your recipient finishes downloading. This way, you don’t even have to remember to delete the files.
This is not entirely a new concept. But Mozilla’s recognition and the simplicity in the drag-and-drop process make it more convenient for file sharing.
The website Send probably won’t last forever unless it becomes popular among users. In case you don’t require shuttling large files, you can check out two other experiments on the site. These are Voice Fill and Notes. As the name suggests, Voice Fill lets users speak in order to input text. And, Notes, on the other hand, provide a space for users to note down memos fast without leaving the browser.
