After being postponed earlier in the month, fans of MultiVersus have been anxiously awaiting the release of season 1. The first season, along with a new playable character named “Morty”, was earlier scheduled to debut on August 9. However, the Season 1 release date as well as other details regarding the new content that will be included have now been announced by the MultiVersus official Twitter account.

What is the new release date for MultiVersus Season 1?

According to the official announcement, the MultiVersus season 1 new release date has been set for Monday, August 15, 2022. A new Battle Pass will be introduced with the first season, allowing players to earn different in-game incentives.

Morty character release date

At Evo 2022, MultiVersus announced its upcoming Season 1 Roadmap and gave players a preview of what the season would entail when it is eventually released. It was disclosed that two new game modes would be available for players to enjoy in addition to the anticipated appearance of the Rick and Morty characters.

Since then, fans have been anticipating the introduction of a new character, though Morty won’t be featured in the first season’s premiere. Rick hasn’t been addressed by the developers, but Morty will be made playable in MultiVerusus on August 23.

Instead of merely adding what fans were anticipating, the inaugural Battle Pass would also include new game modes and content. Players will have even more options for setting up their battles with the addition of a brand-new four-player Arcade Mode and a competitive Ranked mode in Season 1. 50 tiers are expected to be included in the MultiVersus Season 1 battle pass, which will cost 950 Gleamium, the game’s purchasable currency. A pack of 1000 Gleamium would cost roughly $10.

Some on social media had speculated that the delay in the premiere of Season 1 was caused by the Discovery and Warner Bros. deal. Although, in a tweet earlier this month, Tony Huynh, the co-founder of Player First Games, assured fans that wasn’t the issue at all.
