About a few weeks ago, Samsung confirmed its next Galaxy Unpacked event to be coming up in the last week of July without revealing the exact date. The event, as we know, will feature the launch of Samsung’s new products like phones, tablets, smartwatches, and audio gear, among others.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Watch 6 series are some of the most anticipated products of this year’s event due to the technological advancement therein. Ahead of this event, Google has now rendered the name and model numbers of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series Render
The Galaxy Watch 6 series was spotted on the Google Play Console’s database, revealing the names and model numbers. As we can see from the leaked screenshots, the Samsung Watch 6, 40mm version is code-named “fresh6bs,” and the model is SM-R930, while the 44mm version is code-named “fresh6bl” and the model is SM-R940.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 43mm version also appears in Google’s list of supported devices, codenamed “wise6bs” with model number SM-R950, while the 47mm version is codenamed “wise6bl” with model number SM-R960.
Previously, these smartwatches have appeared on several certification platforms such as FCC, NBTC, and Bluetooth SIG. However, with the devices appearing on Google’s list, it suggested that they will run the WearOS-based One UI Watch system.
Galaxy Watch 6 Expected Specs
The Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to largely use the same design as the Galaxy Watch 4 series featuring a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 470×470 pixels.
Likewise, the Exynos W930 processor with slightly faster performance is expected therein and runs on Wear OS 4-based One UI Watch 5 operating system. Additionally, the Watch 6 may have a 300mAh battery, while the Classic model may have a 425mAh battery.
Other features to expect include activity tracking, body composition analysis, GPS, heart rate monitor, ECG, sleep tracking, SpO2 sensor, stress monitoring, IP68 rating, loudspeaker, LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Samsung Pay.
Pricing and Availability
Going by the previous leak by Dealabs, the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to price within the range of €319.99, €369.99, and €399.99 based on colors and configurations, while the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic should be around €419.99, €469.99 and €499.99.
