The pre-order date and the cover athlete for NBA 2K23 were both revealed in a teaser today by 2K Sports. NBA 2K23’s cover features Michael Jordan once again, marking the fourth time in the game’s history that he has been there. He was on the covers of NBA 2K16, NBA 2K11, and NBA 2K12 before the release of NBA 2K23.
“For the 24th year of NBA 2K, Jordan is the perfect personification of this year’s marketing theme: Answer the Call,” the press release reveals. Jordan comes back to appear on two NBA 2K23 covers as an athlete who always rose to the occasion, providing old and new fans alike the chance to honor a talent that throughout his career left the world in awe.
The Jordan Challenge, which will relive 15 memorable moments from his history, will return, according to 2K Sports. In addition to achievements from Jordan’s college, NBA, and Team USA Basketball histories, the Jordan Challenges will include additional video sequences with commentary from some of his colleagues, rivals, and other athletes. Later this year, 2K plans to provide additional information regarding the Challenges.
Furthermore, 2K stated that the Championship Edition would include a 12-month membership to NBA League Pass, which typically costs $15 per month. The Championship Edition’s price hasn’t even been released. However, the pre-order will make some additional information available when it launches on July 7.
Despite the fact that NBA 2K23 won’t be out for a few months, no cover athlete or other comprehensive information has yet to be released. This week, however, will see the release of a series of revelations, beginning with the introduction of the NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition. NBA 2K23 will release on September 9th, and we won’t know for sure until then whether it will live up to previous editions.
