In a bid to deliver future-proof and world-class broadband services to all its subscribers in India, Netplus Broadband, a Punjab-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) has entered into a partnership with Nokia. Netplus will deploy Nokia’s Multi-Access Gateway BNG, hosted on the Nokia 7750 Service Router (SR), and the 7250 Interconnect Router (IXR).
Part of the partnership agreement is that Nokia will supply its Multi-Access Gateway Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) application for access management, which provides high-density aggregation, to scale Netplus’ broadband services throughout Northern India. With the largest operations in Punjab, Netplus has operations in more than 400 cities and towns across many Northern Indian states.
Delivering World-class Broadband Services
Arshdeep Singh Mundi, Netplus’s Executive Director said, the partnership aims at providing their subscribers with a top-notch broadband experience and last-mile broadband expansion.

Based on the industry-leading FP5 silicon from Nokia, the 7750 SR offers deterministic performance, a 75% reduction in power consumption over FP4 silicon, highly scalable subscriber management, fine-grained bandwidth management, and per-subscriber policy control.
Netplus will also use Nokia’s 7750 SR Extended Services Appliance (ESA) to scale support for Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT), which will aid it in overcoming the difficulties brought on by the rise in connected endpoint demand.
To enable the implementation of Nokia products and applications and provide the new, quad-play home broadband services to its subscriber base of over one million users across the state of Punjab, Netplus will collaborate with Nokia’s IP Networks services team.
On the other hand, Vach Kompella, Nokia’s Vice President of the IP Networks Division said, with the help of Nokia’s Multi-Access Gateway BNG, Netplus will lay the groundwork for a rapid expansion of broadband connectivity across India.
