The competition between Chrome and Firefox isn’t a new one, and neither is the fact that Chrome got to trump over Firefox most of the time when it comes to being a popular web browser. Well, with Firefox releasing its latest version, the Firefox Quantum, the game is taken to a new level.
While selling the Quantum, Firefox seems to try out anything to overtake Chrome now, and that includes degrading the old Firefox now! Mozilla came up with an ad highlighting the end of the ‘wait face,’ and providing a sense of superiority for the Quantum.
The ad displays a sequence of people appearing to wait disappointedly for web pages to load, thanks to the lead by the narrator accompanied by retro music in the background. In the end, the climax is shown via the branding of Firefox Quantum. Lastly, the video description brought a comparison with Chrome as well, which makes things more interesting!
Well, it doesn’t directly pinpoint the old Firefox, but it is lucid enough to remind the experienced users of the internet regarding their past disappointments while using the Firefox browser. Thusly, the message is clear that Mozilla wants to end ‘wait face’ for the users by coming up with the Firefox Quantum.
Jascha Kayaks-Wolff, the Chief Marketing Officer for Mozilla, was quoted saying, “Wait Face is all about the general frustration of slowness on the internet and how Firefox Quantum is the antidote to that. It’s fast because it’s built for modern devices and the way people today need their browser to perform.”
This pretty much sums up the browser battle for now, and many users intend to give a shot for Firefox Quantum. Keeping aside Chrome which is serving users globally for quite a long now, only because of the newness and everything else that comes with it, may still likely to be far-fetched. Let’s wait and see what’s next awaiting us.
