Xiaomi confirmed today (24), through its page on Chinese social network Weibo, the launch of the new DC series in partnership with Meitu on July 2 in Beijing, China. Since last week, speculation has been made about the new phones, which will be called Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e.
The CC series will be the company’s third brand, alongside Xiaomi and Redmi itself, and will have a design designed by art scholars. The target audience for these new phones are the young and the handsets should be stand out for their photo features – the image algorithms are being developed by the AI Xiaomi X Meitu Aesthetic Laboratory.
The back of the new Xiaomi CC smartphone is also expected to feature Gradient Design color like the one found on the Galaxy S10 series from Samsung and it may also come with Triple Rear-Camera setup.
According to leaks released last week, the Xiaomi Mi CC9e may come with a 5.97-inch AMOLED screen with a water-drop notch that houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera. In the back, the model can bring a triple camera with sensors of 48, 8 and 5 megapixels.
The leak of the phone indicates that it comes with Snapdragon 710 chipset with variations of 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage. The battery would be 3,500 mAh and the operating system the Android 9 Pie based on the MIUI 10.
The Mi CC9 would, according to the leak, be slightly larger than the CC9e with a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen and water drop notch with a 32-megapixel camera. The rear would also house a triple camera set with 48, 16 and 12-megapixel sensors.
The chipset used in this model would be Snapdragon 730 with variations of 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM and internal storage of up to 256 GB. The battery would be 4,000 mAh and the operating system would also use MIUI 10 for Android 9. Rumors say that the next model of the CC line could feature a flip camera, similar to that of Zenfone 6.
