As per reports from various media, OnePlus is meticulously working to debut the Ace 3 smartphone in China on January 4, 2024, with its rebranded global version, the OnePlus 12R, slated to be launched on January 23, 2024. Allegedly, the OnePlus 12R is substantially the international variant of the Ace 3. With leaked promotional material, we can opt for the device to be presented in two colors – black and blue.
Earlier leaks suggested that the OnePlus Ace 3 would arrive in three colors: Star Black, Moon Sea Blue, and Mingsha Gold. However, the latest information suggests that the OnePlus 12R may not embroil the gold variant. The revealed posters showcase the black and blue color options for the OnePlus 12R.
Notably, the phone’s design closely resembles its predecessors, the 11R and the OnePlus 12, particularly in the distinct family characteristics of the camera module. It’s worth mentioning that the OnePlus 12R opts for a three-camera setup and does not incorporate a periscope telephoto lens.
Regarding specifications, foreign media reports indicate that the OnePlus 12R mirrors the hardware of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3. The Ace 3 is expected to run on the ColorOS 14 system based on Android 14, while the OnePlus 12R might operate on the OxygenOS 14 system, also based on Android 14.
When it comes to hardware, the OnePlus 12R is speculated to equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 mobile platform under the hood. The device sports a 6.78-inch OLED curved display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of photography, the camera setup flaunts a 50MP+8MP+2MP triple camera system, complemented by a 16MP selfie camera. The device is said to pack a robust 5500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging capabilities, providing users with an enhanced and efficient mobile experience.
