Nintendo announced that its upcoming Nintendo Labo VR Kit would support two of the Switch’s most prominent titles that are releasing next week. Super Mario Odyssey will get a bonus mode with the new mini-missions designed for VR, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild appears to be playable in its entirety except for the cutscenes.
The VR Toy-Con is meant to be an accessible way for families to test VR out without dropping big bucks on systems like the PSVR or an Oculus. Players will be able to use existing game saves. All that’s required is to build the headset. Like any other Labo peripheral, go to the options screen in the game and select On to the Toy-Con VR Goggles option.
The Nintendo Labo VR Kit also comes with a host of fun projects to build and play with, including a rocket launcher-like blaster and a wind pedal. You can create a cardboard steering wheel or a cardboard fishing rod. You can even turn into a cardboard robot with Labo. A cardboard VR headset is the latest device in the works from Nintendo.
The Nintendo Labo VR kit will be available on April 12 for the Nintendo Switch. The full set with all accessories will be $79.99 (approx Rs. 5,532), but a Starter Kit with the VR goggles and blaster will be available at $39.99 (approx Rs. 2,767).
