The Nintendo Switch system got a new free update today, allowing users to use the Toy-Con Motorbike from the Nintendo Labo. The Toy-Con Motorbike is basically a Variety Kit to control in-game vehicles. This new interactive controller will make the users feel as if they themselves are sitting on the driving seat. Not only this, but fans who have submitted their creations to the Nintendo Labo Creators Contest will have the opportunity to win some exciting limited-edition prizes like a collectible cardboard-inspired Nintendo Switch system.
Nintendo has also announced the categories for the second Nintendo Labo Contest. There are two categories, one is titled “Best Gaming Experience using Toy-Con Garage,” and the other is called “Best Toy-Con Musical Instrument”. 13 years or older fans residing either in the U.S or in Canada (except Quebec) can participate in this contest. The contest will begin at 11 AM PT on 19/07/2018 and will end at 10:59 AM PT on 20/08/2018.
A bunch of Official Rules has been released to inform the users which guidelines they need to follow. Users will have to upload a video of their Toy-Con creation or invention. Second Grand Prize winners will each receive one collectible Nintendo Switch system, one Nintendo Labo Creators Jacket and one award certificate. 8 Runner-Up winners will each receive one collectible pair of Joy-Con controllers, one Nintendo Labo Creators Jacket, and one award certificate.
After downloading the latest update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, selecting the “Nintendo Labo” icon on the game’s title screen will give the users access to a menu where they can select Toy-Con as the control type. A maximum of four players can play at the same time using their own Toy-Con and Joy-Con controllers. However, Nintendo Labo kits and additional Joy-Con are sold separately but the Toy-Con Motorbike is a part of the Nintendo Labo: Variety Kit.
