Nintendo Switch Online will get the solitary Pokémon video game that focuses on completing blocky puzzles, arriving next week. Nintendo also released a gameplay teaser for Pokemon Puzzle League to showcase its key features.

Gamers could now experience the vintage puzzle game drenched in Pokemon memories as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, according to the latest announcement from Nintendo. On July 15, the Pokemon Puzzle League will launch on Nintendo Switch Online. The game that was initially released for the Nintendo 64 will now be included in the library of games accessible via the virtual console included with the membership.

Pokemon Puzzle League was first made available in 2000 for the Nintendo 64 only. The first and only time it was released again after that was in 2008 on the Wii Virtual Console. With the introduction of this game on Switch online, Nintendo fans may now play it.

Pokemon Puzzle League was inspired by the NES game Panel de Pon, in which players have to arrange blocks of similar shades to get points, even though the puzzle structure is already fairly widespread. The initial seasons of Pokemon had a significant impact on the game, which is why you can see Ash, Misty, Brock, and Team Rocket when you break down blocks and hear their voices in sound snippets.

The game is based on the concept that Ash is participating in the international Pokemon Puzzle League competition, wherein he faces off against Kanto gym executives and fellow rival Gary. This is a little uncommon for a puzzle game because it also contains a narrative.

Recently, the official Pokemon Snap game was added to the subscription service, allowing users to experience the game’s origins. So to play Pokemon Puzzle League after its release, players will require the premium Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership which costs approximately $50 per year.
