The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch Pro with OLED display screen could arrive in the market sooner than expected. The official reports claim that the new Nintendo Switch Pro could come to the market in September or October this year. Nintendo announced the launch date of the upcoming console ahead of its E3 conference that is scheduled to start on June 12, 2021. The upcoming conference serves as the event that lets the developers show their range of new Switch games before they hit the market or get launched on the console.
Switch Pro’s assembly is expected to start shipping the console as early as July. This will help the company to stock up on enough consoles so that by the time the consoles hit the market, the company will have them stocked up. However, the production of the same is expected to go into high gear only in the October-December quarter, especially because the demands for the consoles go high up during the holiday seasons.
The new Nintendo Switch Pro will come equipped with a 7-inch 720p OLED display. Furthermore, the company will also upgrade the resolution from 1080p to 4K when docked or connected to a TV. There have been a few rumors claiming that the company will use an NVIDIA chipset to help bump up the resolution.
Nintendo is planning to stop the production of the standard version of the Switch and stop selling the same in the future. But there has been no official news or confirmation on this front.
The new and upgraded Nintendo Switch Pro will likely be priced below $299. The original standard version of the Nintendo Switch that came out in 2017 was priced at $299, so the upgraded version is expected to be priced above that. The Switch Pro will apparently sell alongside the $199 Nintendo Switch Lite.
