When the PS VR2 was first introduced, Sony stated that just two games—Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Cities VR: Enhanced Edition—would be accessible for the device on launch day. The most recent statement from Hello Games confirmed that the No Man’s Sky PSVR 2 free update will be also available alongside the other two titles.
PlayStation VR 2 No Man’s Sky free update announced for launch day
No Man’s Sky PSVR 2 version will be accessible when the headset releases worldwide on February 22, 2023. For those who already own the game, the PSVR 2 updates will be free. The game owners will be able to directly download the no-cost update and benefit from the enhanced experience thanks to the integration of the PS5 and PSVR 2 features.
In June, Hello Games hinted that a PSVR 2 update for No Man’s Sky was in development. They promised an improved VR experience that will make use of the PS5, PSVR2, and its new Sense controllers. According to Murray, the studio now has the ability to take the gamer to entirely new levels because of technological advancement.
Murray, the founder of Hello Games, stated in the previous No Man’s Sky PSVR 2 version announcement back in June that “the power of PlayStation 5, together with the brand-new PlayStation VR2 technology, including the new Sense controllers, combine to elevate that sense of immersion and realism up by several key levels.”
Although Hello Games has not yet provided any details on the update, their initial attempt to integrate VR into No Man’s Sky proved to be a stunning way to view its vast randomized world. Murray has promised to share more details in the coming months.
With 3 months left until the arrival of PSVR 2, it’s possible that additional titles may be announced. Sony has already announced 11 games, three of which have now been confirmed for launch day.
