Not long ago, HMD World teased that it will soon be launching a new smartphone in India and lately rumors pointed out towards the launch of the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the global variant of Nokia X6. Nokia licensee HMD Global has cemented the rumors by sending out an invitation to media for a smartphone launch on August 21 in India.
The invitation doesn’t mention the title of the distinct smartphone, there is no official confirmation on what to expect at the launch event, so it seems that the Nokia 6.1 Plus is likely to be at least one of the handsets to make its debut on the event. The HMD invite says “HMD World invites you to a unique gathering for the following massive unveil.” The massive event is to take place in New Delhi on August 21.
Nokia 6.1 Plus was first released in Hong Kong and alongside this as rumors mark HMD Global may also launch the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 2.1.
The vital specifications of the Nokia 6.1 Plus are identical to the Nokia X6 that was launched in China in May. It involves a 5.8-inch total High definition+ display screen with the notch, octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC, 4GB RAM, 16MP+5MP rear digicam sensor, and 3060mAh in-built battery.
There is a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor – sporting an f/2.0 aperture. For additional security, it also has a face unlock support.
Nokia 6.1 Plus that was first debuted in Hong Kong was priced around HKD 2,288 (Rs 20,100) that comes in two variants; Blue and White color. The real dilemma is the value tag at which it will be released, as of now there are no details available on the handset’s price for India.
