Last week at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, HMD Global, which was founded to create next-gen Nokia smartphones, announced two new top-model smartphones from the same company named Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9. Other than this announcement, they also introduced two new smartphones at the MWC 2018 which were Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. But these can hardly be called brand new since the processors of these smartphones are of last year.
The website AKKet announced certain specifications about the new Nokia 8 Pro on their webpage. The main difference between Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 8 Sirocco lies in the processor. Nokia 8 Pro will be sporting the most advanced processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip. It will come with a 5.7-inch screen which is comparatively a huge screen. The size of the screen will automatically increase the aspect ratio, which will be 18:9, and the screen resolution will be of 2160×1080 pixels. The phone will be sporting a 5-chamber camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, which is very typical of Nokia. The advanced camera will come with a rotating zoom, and the phone’s security is tight since it comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back cover.
HMD Global Nokia 9 is suspected to be released in the next few months. It will come with the top 8 core Snapdragon 845 chip, like Nokia 8 Pro, and will include a frequency of 2.8 GHz, Adreno 630 graphics, 1.2 Gbps Snapdragon X20 LTE modem. The most interesting part of it has to be the screen which is a large 5.5-inch frameless OLED screen that is curved from the sides. It comes with dual main cameras, 12 MP and 13 MP, with a 5 MP selfie camera. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the screen, and it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Price of both of the phones has not yet been set, but Nokia 9 is supposed to cost 24-40% more than Nokia 8 Pro.
