Streaming boxes, also known as the Digital Media Player have made content viewing easier that performs functions like storing, playing, and easy viewing of contents by attaching itself to television.
Today, as Netflix and Prime are becoming the personal favorites of every other household around the world, producing multi-lingual entertainment content with varying genres, the need and demand for these streaming boxes are hiking up due to easy streaming facilities.
Recently, many companies have taken advantage of this mushrooming technology and produced several streaming boxes and this time, Nokia is not far from the competition. A new license deal was signed amongst the two companies, Nokia and Stream View in order to produce the first-ever Nokia smart TVs will come with an Android streaming box. And now, Nokia is about to launch its very first streaming box as the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 that will be supporting the 4G network.
As per the released specifications received, the box will be featuring:
- Resolution: It will support 4K resolution output producing a real-life like experience with the high-end images.
- Connectivity: The box will come with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 4.2, along with a built-in Google Chromecast.
- Connections: The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 comprises HDMI, Ethernet, USB 3.0, USB Type-C, AV-socket.
However, no news of the storage facility and battery information has been released yet. But apart from these, we have also received news regarding a remote control comprising of a 5-way navigation button and automatic directional buttons on YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and Play Movies. Moreover, there is a backlit setup behind the remote controller, giving it a cooler feature in comparison.
The box aided by an HDMI cable is supposed to be priced at €99 (US$117 / Rs. 8,705 approx.) and is about to reach the European market for sale before the Christmas event this year December.
