News about two new Nokia feature phones has been making its rounds since last December, after Nokia TA 1047 got certified by FCC on 15th December 2017, and soon after that, its next model, Nokia TA 1056, received its FCC certificate, the report of which has been published today. The model received its Bluetooth certificate last December.
Both the phones seem to support Dual SIMs and have similar designs. However, the major difference between the two models lies in their antenna systems. While Inpaq supplies the PIFA antenna of Nokia TA-1056, Nokia TA-1047 receives its antenna from the FAD.
Nokia TA-1056 measures 140 mm diagonally, while its length and breadth are 133 mm and 68 mm, respectively. It is a GSM/WCDMA/LTE feature phone that supports WLAN 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, and LTE band 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,20,28,38,40. In addition to these, the model also supports frequency bands like WCDMA band II / IV and LTE band 2/4/28. TA-1056 does not run an Android, YunOS or S30/Feature OS, but its OS does support 4G. While reports suggest that the phone may feature a QWERTY keypad, nothing has been confirmed regarding that yet.
TA-1056 and TA-1047, both Dual SIM phones, leave TA-1060 as the only other model that may be a single SIM one. In addition to the three models already mentioned, two more models, TA-1066 and TA-1079, received their Bluetooth certificates simultaneously, making it quite plausible that 5 variants of the phone may be released. Since HMD Global intends to go big at MWC 2018, to be held next month, it is anticipated that the phone may be released then.
