After a series of leaks and speculation, Nothing has officially confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2 is coming on the 11th of July 2023 in the global market. The brand confirmed the launch date in a tweet via its Twitter page.

Along with the tweet, it also teased a new image revealing the slightly altered glyph lights present under the transparent rear panel of the smartphone. Unfortunately, the brand didn’t reveal more details aside from this. Now, let’s take a look at some of the previous leaks of the device.

Nothing Phone 2 Expected Specs

As was previously predicted, a steady wave of leaks has exposed the likely primary specifications of Nothing Phone 2. The processor for the phone was made public a few weeks ago when the brand CEO Carl Pei confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2 will be powered by a new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 Chipset.

At the same time, the firm has confirmed that the Phone 2 will have a 4700 mAh battery and a 6.7-inch display. Whereas it also said that despite housing a 200 mAh bigger battery and a 0.15-inch bigger display than the Phone 1, the Phone 2 would have a carbon footprint of 53.45 kg – significantly lesser than its predecessor.

Additionally, the Nothing Phone 2 could be one of the first few smartphones to run the most recent version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 14. It might, however, launch with Android 13 and provide an upgrade soon after.

Nothing Phone 2 Design

One of the most striking features of the original phone was its design, the Nothing Phone. We anticipate that the general aesthetic of the Nothing Phone 2 won’t change. This suggests that the Nothing Phone 2 may have a transparent back and a Glyph LED light interface.

Also, we can see a transparent rear panel made of white, textured plastic, just like the Phone 1, with those recognizable “Glyph” LEDs visible, even though it doesn’t display the phone in all of its beauty. Although the red camera notification led is still there, we anticipate that the general design of the Glyph LED lights will change from that of the Phone 1.

Pricing

For certainty, there is no doubt that the Nothing Phone 2 will be more expensive than its predecessor – the Nothing Phone 1, which went official last year for $600. Therefore, the new smartphone should be more than $600. Stay connected with Techgenyz as we bring you more updates come next week from the launch event.
