The American multinational technology company NVIDIA plans to bring its graphics prowess to the mobility segment with the launch of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Mobile powered by the Ampere GA103 GPU.
NVIDIA plans to enhance its graphics capabilities in the mobile field by launching GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Mobile based on the Ampere GA103 GPU.
NVIDIA’s current flagship mobile graphics card is the GeForce RTX 3080, which is based on the GA104 GPU. It has the same 6144 CUDA cores and 256-bit bus interface as the RTX 3070 Ti desktop.
The Ampere GA103 GPU SKU, which is thought to be an optimized variant of the GA102 GPU core, may come to mind. Because of its high power consumption, the GA102 cannot be included in the mobile portfolio.
The GA103 GPU is no exception, but according to what we’ve heard, it’ll be designed for mobile performance. As a result, the device will likely have more cores and a bigger memory bus.
The NVIDIA Ampere GA103 GPU, with a device ID of 2420, was discovered by TechPowerUp GPU-z BIOS editor Matthew Smith (GN20-E8). According to Matthew, the SKU’s code name is GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Mobile.
It comes in two flavors: normal and Max-Q, although Kopite7kimi believes it will be known as the GeForce RTX 3090 Mobile. The previous leak also mentioned the RTX 3080 SUPER and RTX 3070 SUPER series. All of these names indicate that this SKU will outperform the current GeForce RTX 3080 Mobile.
In terms of TDP, the RTX 3080 Mobile currently employs a design that consumes more than 150 watts, so it’s safe to assume that the RTX 3080 Ti Mobile will require more power, but still less than 200 watts.
The processor will perform similarly to the RTX 3080 thanks to its additional cores and higher memory capacity, albeit we are not sure what bus interface it will use.
