The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has confirmed the games that will be played at the Olympic Esports Series 2023. The IOC, in collaboration with international federations and game companies, will host the next event, which will be virtual and take place on a global stage. Nine different games are mentioned, but the most important thing to notice is the addition of Just Dance and Gran Turismo 7.

The International Olympic Committee will revive its esports series in a new style for 2023 after the Olympic Virtual Series’ popularity in 2021. It will provide competitors in nine different sports the opportunity to win the Olympic title. To enter the finals in Singapore in June, players from across the world can try to qualify for a variety of games.

The following is a list of all nine games for the Olympic Esports Series 2023 that have been officially confirmed:

  • Dance – Just Dance
  • Motorsport – Gran Turismo 7
  • Sailing – Virtual Regatta
  • Archery – Tic Tac Bow
  • Baseball – WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros
  • Chess – Chess.com
  • Cycling – Zwift
  • Taekwondo – Virtual Taekwondo
  • Tennis – Tennis Clash

Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital and producer of Gran Turismo, said, “Participation of Gran Turismo in the Olympic Esports Series 2023 is something we are very happy about, and it is great for fans of GT and the community.”

Just Dance is a popular motion-based music video game created by Ubisoft, where players imitate the on-screen dancers’ choreography using motion controllers to earn points based on their accuracy. Apart from being an enjoyable and social game, it has a competitive element, and it is now a part of the Olympics Esports Series.

The tournament starts on March 1st with players of all skill levels, from amateur to professional, invited to participate in qualifying rounds. For the first time, the Olympic Esports Series 2023 will conclude with live, in-person finals where players can advance to the Olympic Esports Finals 2023. The finals will take place from June 22 to 25 at Singapore’s Suntec Centre, as part of the Olympic Esports Week 2023.
