OnePlus sometime ago promised that it will launch a Nougat update for OnePlus 3T and for its predecessor OnePlus 3, just after launching the OnePlus 3T before the end of 2016.

When we were in the last couple of weeks of 2016, most people thought the company won’t launch the update before the end of this year. But OnePlus has taken a step toward and fulfilled its promise instead of disappointing its users.

One Plus announced that this new update will come in the form of Oxygen OS. One Plus, on December 31st, announced its update for Android Nougat as Android Nougat 7.1.1.

The announcement of this new update by OnePlus was firstly introduced by Carl Pei, CEO of OnePlus on his official Twitter account. In his tweet, he thanked the whole research team of One Plus that made a lot of effort, worked hard, and didn’t even celebrate the festivals just to turn the promise into reality.

Moreover, the company also introduced that it has released Oxygen OS 3.5.5 firmware update for OnePlus 2 smartphones for VoLTE networks.

Furthermore, the company claimed that its new update for Android Nougat is much better in terms of features, and includes Multi-window, Quick Switch- by using which one can switch to the previous app using the multitasking button, and VR / Daydream support., the new update brings new mojos, enhanced file browser, a new moto action called swipe to shrink the screen, clear all, current apps, push notifications. The new version comes with Google Assistant enhanced Java 8 language support, smooth updates, and data saver, and direct reply notifications.

The company made an announcement for those users who want to receive the notifications about Nougat update, can download and install it when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi network. One condition is that the phone must have more than 50% charging. – OnePlus

If you have not received the update yet, then just go to Settings-> About Phone-> System Updates and then select the update. After getting the notification message for the update, you can then choose “Yes, I’m in” and once the update is downloaded, click on install now, and there you go.

OnePlus is now looking forward to the feedback of users about this new update.
