OnePlus launched its latest flagship, the OnePlus 6, last month and is currently at the center of attention, receiving regular software updates and features. Its latest update to OxygenOS 5.1.8 is incremental and has already started rolling out to a handful of users, expected to reach a wider base with time.
The latest update has ushered in changes in three core areas: optimized call quality, fixing of system stability issues, and improved network stability and general bug fixes. The update comes with the added perk of being equipped with all the features of OxygenOS 5.1.7, making it ideal for those users who had previously failed to upgrade to 5.1.7; along with its solution for the critical bootloader security flaw.
The optimized quality of voice calls is expected to help users in countries like India, where the quality of voice calls is generally poor. While the update is being rolled out in its own time, users can force the update on their phone earlier by using a VPN. The update size is 102 MB.
OnePlus 6 is available for sale in India, with prices starting at Rs 34,999 onwards; and is available in shades of mirror black, midnight black, and silk white.
