The renders for the OnePlus 7 smartphone are out, but this smartphone will not be a 5G supporting smartphone. Team Pricebaba and the noted tipster @OnLeaks have come together to release the first 5K renders of the OnePlus 7, and here is what we know.
The design of the upcoming flagship seems to be similar to that of its predecessor, with the exception of the camera component and no 3.5mm jack.
The dimensions of the OnePlus 7 are said to be 162.6 x 76 x 8.8mm, with the thickest point being 9.7mm at the rear camera bump. With a possible 6.5” HD+ resolution display whose specifications are as yet unknown, the smartphone will consist of at least a 95% screen-to-body ratio, achievable thanks to the pop-up selfie-camera feature, and this pop-up selfie camera would be a first for the OnePlus.
The OnePlus 7 would feature an additional sensor and have a triple rear camera setup, aligned vertically, with a flash beneath it. The camera specifications are possibly 24MP + 12MP + 8MP.
The phone would include a pop-up camera setup and a mic at the top, a USB Type-C port, and a loudspeaker outlet at the bottom. The top edge would contain the SIM tray. There would be the power button and alert slider on the right side, and on the left, volume buttons.
The back panel is seemingly made of glass as it is shown to be glossy and reflective.
At the MWC 2019, which took place last week, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, while talking about 5G and the newly-announced 5G Apps of the Future program, also discussed the upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 7, where he had confirmed that the OnePlus 7 would not have wireless charging.
It is expected that the phone would include Snapdragon 855 at its core, with a storage capacity of 6GB RAM and possibly 64GB internal memory, an operating system of Oxygen OS based on Android 9 Pie, and a battery of 4,150mAh.
As for availability, it is expected that the OnePlus 7 will be launched sometime in June, possibly along with the 5G smartphone that OnePlus has been working on. OnePlus has always customarily launched new flagship smartphones twice in a year, a regular version releasing at around the middle of the year, and a ‘T’ variant releasing around the end of the year.
With the company raising prices for new generation smartphones, the base price of the OnePlus 7 can be expected to be in the range of Rs 35,000 – Rs 40,000.
