As scheduled, OnePlus has begun the official launch event of its flagship device, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, in China today. The smartphone, which will be launched alongside other products, will succeed last year’s OnePlus Ace 2 that was announced in Chinese markets.
Unlike this model, the new OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to come with upgraded features and exceptional performance. Going by its previously leaked image, the device appears to retain the same design as the OnePlus 11 series. Now, let’s look at what we know so far.
OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Launch Conference
The event began at exactly 2:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 16, in Shenzhen, China, with the introduction of the smartphone by a OnePlus official. Since the launch event is still ongoing, the Chinese brand has not uncovered the official pricing yet.
However, as we discovered via its official launching link site, OnePlus has set ￥2799 as the benchmark pricing for the new OnePlus Ace 2 Pro device. The caption from the site reads: “A New Benchmark for Performance Phones From ￥2799.
Given the above, it is believed that the new flagship device will be officially released at a starting price of ￥2799. Since the device will come in different storage capacities, we expected another higher pricing range. As the event is still ongoing, we don’t know all the full pricing yet. Although previous reports say it will range from ￥3750 to ￥4500.
OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Full Specs
A 6.7-inch OLED curved display for the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is rumored to have a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The company’s Rainwater Touch Control technology, which is advertised as resolving the issue of incorrect touch response inputs in wet weather or if the user’s hands are sweaty, is also confirmed to be included in the smartphone.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is confirmed to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage capacity will be included. The future product will also be the first smartphone in the world to include the Tiangong cooling system, an aerospace-grade three-dimensional cooling system.
Coming to the optical secession, the device packs a Sony IMX 890 sensor on the Nothing Phone (2), OnePlus 11R, and OPPO Reno 10 Pro with OIS technology. Additionally, the smartphone will also adopt OPPO’s top-tier image algorithm to enhance its camera capabilities, along with support for the company’s ProXDR photon matrix technology to restore the authentic interplay of light and shadow in photos.
According to reports, the smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 150W rapid charging. The company is also releasing a portable GaN charger for game consoles and laptops that supports 45W PD. Additionally, the device will support the UFCS fusion fast charging protocol, a first for OnePlus devices, guaranteeing efficiency and compatibility with external chargers.
And finally, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to be like the OnePlus 11 series. It has a circular module with three sensors and an LED flash on a half-pill-shaped island that extends from the side frame. The smartphone will be available in Black and green. For security purposes, the device will be equipped with a repositioned optical fingerprint scanner, which is 2cm higher for a better experience than previous OnePlus phones.
