OnePlus apparently is coming out with its first-ever wearable device expected to be called the OnePlus Band, although the name is not confirmed, in India.
The company posted the first teaser for the device shared via the OnePlus India Twitter account. The tweet is accompanied by a link to a ‘Notify Me’ page on the OnePlus India website where the fans will be presented with the chance to win the device by participating in a quiz.
The teaser does not give away much of the upcoming fitness band, as is the case with any technological teaser. It also sheathes the name of the wearable. However, the teaser does give us ideas about the design of the upcoming fitness band.
Earlier Android Central claimed that the company will come up with a new fitness tracker and that the band will be called OnePlus Band. The report further claimed that OnePlus will also launch a new smartphone in the coming months and the launch of the new smartphones will be followed by the launch of the fitness tracker.
The upcoming fitness tracker from OnePlus is rumored to be priced around $40; the band itself is supposed to feature an OLED display, water-resistance technology, and multi-day battery life as well as support for tracking basic fitness stats.
OnePlus’s fitness band will be a competitor of Mi fitness bands which already dominate the Indian market. OnePlus has not mentioned any official launch date for the OnePlus Band. However, it is expected that the company will first make the fitness tracker available in India followed by a global launch. Now that the company has started teasing the upcoming wearable device, the launch of the same is upon us. More news regarding its specs, price, design, etc can only be known if the company releases official information.
