OnePlus recently unveiled the OnePlus 8 series smartphone, and the company already teased the launch of yet another product. Even though OnePlus has not made any official comment regarding the name of the product, but it seems like that the new smartphone will be the OnePlus 8 Lite. Last month, a tipster had revealed that the company might launch the OnePlus 8 Lite under a different name – the OnePlus Z.
The teaser post from the smartphone giant features a white box with a question mark inscribed on it. It is being expected that the new smartphone will not be so expensive, at least not as expensive as the OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8. OnePlus 8 price starts at $699 (roughly Rs. 53,200), while OnePlus 8 Pro price begins at $899 (roughly Rs. 68,400). Both the phones were launched on April 14.
The lower price tag had to do with the fact that a lot of old OnePlus smartphone users are complaining about the ridiculous pricing. The Chinese launch for the OnePlus 8 series will commence today from 4:30 pm IST. At this event, the smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch or at least introduce the mysterious device.
Even though nothing official is known about some of the specs of the OnePlus Lite, earlier reports indicated that the smartphone would feature a 6.4-inch display, triple camera set up and a center-aligned punch-hole design. It is rumored that the smartphone would sport a 4,000mAh battery.
Earlier another tipster had claimed that the features mentioned above are actually being developed by OnePlus for the new OnePlus Z smartphone. Still, the OnePlus Z smartphone is a revamped version of the OnePlus X smartphone which was introduced in 2015. However, another one claimed that the OnePlus Z is, in fact, the new OnePlus 8 Lite with a different name but the same specs.
