Another problem that can be included in the list is that the OnePlus 5 reboots your phone when the user dials 911 instead of linking the user with emergency service. This issue can’t be ignored and has to be taken into consideration. One of the Reddit users unveiled this issue when he saw a building on fire and tried to call on emergency helpline number. A Reddit user provided video evidence of the problem after failing to connect to emergency services to report a building fire.
Based on the information provided, Canadian OnePlus 5 users don’t seem to be affected — attempts to dial 911 go through every time. At the same time, not every American user has reported failure, either: some calls appear to go through the first time, while others take a few tries and eventually connect to the operator.
According to the comments on the Reddit thread, it is observed that not all OnePlus 5 phones were facing the same problem. In a statement to The Next Web, OnePlus said it’s looking into the issue:
“We have contacted the customer and are currently looking into the issue. We ask anyone experiencing a similar situation to contact us at support@oneplus.net.”
We expect that the company will find out some solution to resolve this problem through such issues are unexpected. In the last 24 hours, OnePlus has “been in touch with the customer and have tested a software update that has resolved the issue.”
