The Chrome team of Google has been focusing on VR web browsing these days. More interestingly, Opera came up with a solution to a pain point, having found a way to connect online videos and VR.
You will have an option ‘Watch in VR’ at the top to click on and view on your VR headset. The video can play in any view kind, normal clip, 180-degree, or full 360. For this to be processed, you need your VR headset plugged into your Linux PC, macOS, or Windows.

Starting today, you can use this solution via Opera’s Developer 49 build. It is as simple as – clicking and watching on the headset. And truly, so! The best part is, that you don’t even need to download the video.
Presently, this has gained support from Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo. Simultaneously, this is possible for other online videos as well. In the case of VR hardware, the feature works on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, OSVR HDK2, and other OpenVR headsets.
Although it is a developer build, Opera keeps it open for passionate users to try it out. Do remember to have your headset connected and on standby before clicking on the video.
