In the past few years, electric vehicles have started to take the world by storm, especially because electric cars have also been accepted among the mass as eco-friendly transport. The sudden EV boom has made many companies branch out to this new arena. Even Xiaomi had announced a few months ago that the company will start building cars, and Oppo has applied for the registration of the “OCAR” trademark – this only points to the fact that Oppo is getting closer to manufacturing cars.

According to the Chinese Enterprise Check App, OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. recently applied for the “OCAR” trademark registration. The application classifies the trademark as a scientific instrument, and the status of the same is currently under review. After gathering more details and paying some more follow-up attention to it, perhaps the company will get the trademark it is hoping for.

According to a few reports, Oppo Group is preparing for car-making issues, and the founder of the group Chen Mingyong has led a team to research and discuss the industrial chain and talents. Some insiders have revealed that Oppo is pre-researching the car, and is yet to formally announce and start the project, in other words, it is still in its preliminary phase.

OPPO officials have revealed that the company already has a layout in mind regarding the car in terms of car-machine interconnection, including the expansion of the flash charging ecology to the automotive field. This only goes on to say that in the future Oppo will definitely bring a car to its audience.
