Oppo might also release C1 Gamepad for Reno Ace smartphone

Oppo Reno Ace smartphone will soon be released in Europe along with a new C1 gamepad or a Bluetooth gamepad for it, reports suggest. The Chinese manufacturer has now registered the required trademark in Europe and the UK. Reno Ace is the first Oppo phone with a 90Hz screen and 65W fast-charging functionality. The phone is also equipped with a 48-megapixel quad camera. This smartphone was already introduced in China in September.

Oppo Reno Ace with an optional game controller

Along with the introduction of the Reno Ace smartphone, Oppo has also released a Limited Edition. The Oppo Reno Ace Gundam Edition will be released next month in a limited edition, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Japanese media franchise for anime series. This device has an impressive screen rate of 135Hz and is also equipped with a 4D vibration linear motor. In addition to a Limited Edition smartphone, a gamepad will also be released on November 11 in collaboration with Gundam Unicorn, the Oppo C1.

The Oppo Gamepad offers Bluetooth 5.0 support and features ColorOS depth adjustment. Thanks to Oppo’s Free-mapping technology you can start playing immediately, without delay. Unique is the bi-directional linear motor with 4D vibration, the sensitive vibration sensor provides an extra rich gaming experience. This optional accessory should enable eSports level gaming, the manufacturer said.

You can pull the left and right sides apart, after which you can click the phone on the controller. The red background lighting is automatically activated when the handle is pulled out. The Oppo C1 Gamepad has a very sensitive joystick (16˚ / 8 bit) and four control buttons. The buttons are adjustable as desired. There are also two shoulder buttons. In addition, some status and message notifications LEDs have been added. You can also make a screenshot with one click. The Gundam Unicorn logo is of course also applied to aluminum housing.

The controller is compatible with the Reno Ace, more Oppo models will be added in the future. This Oppo gamepad also supports iOS 10 or higher, you can connect your Apple iPhone via the ‘Play Assistant’ app, as stated on the website. The compatibility will soon be extended to other Android devices. The holder is suitable for phones with a length of 110mm – 166mm.

The device has a white/red color. After 5 minutes of charging, you can already play for 3 hours and after two hours the battery is fully charged. A full battery guarantees 40 hours of game fun. This Oppo Gundam gamepad will go on sale from November 11, 2019, for a price of 300 Chinese yen, converted to less than € 40.

If this product becomes a success in China, then it could well be that in the future, Oppo will also release a Bluetooth gamepad for the European market. Finally, mobile gaming is more popular than ever. Oppo already provides its smartphone models with Game Boost technology and the Game Space app, making these phones excellent for gaming. Gamers will certainly appreciate it if they can also purchase an optional physical controller.
