Although Oppo will come out with a few new smartphones this year, the smartphone giant reportedly is working on renewing the Reno5 smartphone. The new variant of the vanilla Reno5 will come with a few tweaks and upgrades, as per the report.
The new variant will work on an octa-core Snapdragon 750G chipset, whereas the current version of the smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 765G.
A few of the sources have mentioned that the new Reno 5 will feature a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that will come with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The smartphone’s front display comes with a punch-hole design, and the entire display is encased inside thin bezels.
The punch-hole also houses a selfie camera of 32MP. Jumping the bandwagon of featuring quad-cameras on its back, the new Reno 5 too will come with four cameras on its rear.
The quad-camera setup consists of a 64MP main camera, an 8 MP lens, and two 2 MP shooters. Three of the main cameras are arranged vertically, whereas the fourth one is located right beside the first one. The entire camera setup is housed inside a squarish design and it also features a flash.
The smartphone will run on a 4,300mAh battery that supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging. Moreover, the smartphone will come in two colors: one blue and the other one in the conventional black color.
Interestingly, Oppo had introduced the Reno5 4G and 5G smartphone in December, and there had been some talks regarding the company renewing a special edition called Reno5 Marvel Edition. The Marvel Edition of the smartphone features the Snapdragon 720G SoC and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
However, the display screen is the same as the newly announced vanilla Reno5. The launch of the Marvel Edition appears to be imminent. As for the new variant of the vanilla Reno5 no specific launch date has been mentioned.
