Carrying cash is quite a hectic for shopping and other emergency services. And so, the most popular cashless payment method is using payment cards such as Visa and MasterCard. These cards are vulnerable especially when the point-of-sale machines are compromised.

Mobile payments are slowly gaining popularity. While there were only a few popular mobile payment services in the market including Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay, the services have generated revenue of $450 billion. It is speculated that the figure will rise to $1 trillion by the end of 2019.

However, iOS users have Apple Pay, Android users have Android Pay, and Oppo is the latest OEM to introduce a mobile payment service. Oppo has made its official statements regarding the release of their mobile payment service.

Shen Yiren, Vice President of Oppo, during the launch of Oppo Reno also highlighted the reveal of Oppo Pay. OPPO will cooperate with China UnionPay to test and launch OPPO Pay. The company is trying to make contactless payments easy with the help of a transit card that is equipped with NFC in China.

Rumors suspect that Oppo is trying to set up financial sector for consumer finance. It seems that Oppo is indeed stepping into services for worldwide users. The company is trying to expand and diversify its revenues apart of hardware. After its launch, we should expect most of the future Oppo smartphones to be NFC-enabled just like the latest Oppo Reno.

The company along with Oppo Pay has also announced its upcoming launch of its own voice assistant called Breeno, something similar to what we have seen in Alexa voice assistant. With Breeno, Oppo seems to be following the footsteps of Google, Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei, all of which currently bundle their own digital assistants with their smartphones. However, the launch dates for such services are yet to be known.
