Oppo introduced its new Reno smartphone series earlier this year. A good number of Reno models have already been released, and three Reno 2 models were released last month in India.
But the Chinese producer has more model series, think of the high-end Find series, the midrange R and RX series and the budget A and K series. The company also regularly deposits new model names, with 20 new K-series models registered in July.
New Oppo Z series device names
This time, Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications is once again registering 13 new trademark applications with the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). On September 11, 2019, the following device names were recorded by Oppo for its Oppo Z Series: 2Z, 3Z, 4Z, 5Z, 6Z, 7Z, 8Z, 9Z, 10Z, 20Z, 30Z, 40Z and finally 50Z.
The applications are placed within the Class 9 category, with the description; ‘mobile phones; smartphones; software for smartphones; Earphones; battery chargers. No Oppo Z series smartphones have been released yet.
To date, Oppo has always opted for a letter, number combination. This time it is exactly the other way around, first the number and then the letter ‘Z’. For the time being it remains unclear what we should expect from this.
Oppo is known to have a smartphone in development with a 90Hz display, presumably, this device will be introduced next month within the Reno line-up, under the name Oppo Reno Ace. The name of this device has already been confirmed by the manufacturer.
In addition, the Chinese manufacturer demonstrated its new under-screen camera technology some time ago; it is as yet unclear within which model series this innovative device will be placed. The Find series seems obvious, but it is of course also possible that Oppo has completely different plans.
