Nothing Phone 1 Gets Nothing OS 2.0 Update with New Exciting Features 

After long expectations, Nothing is finally rolling out the Nothing OS 2.0 update – the software that powers the excellent Nothing Phone 2 to the Nothing Phone 1 with new exciting features. The brand disclosed today via its official Twitter page that Nothing OS 2.0 is now trickling out to last year’s Nothing Phone 1.

The Nothing OS 2.0 update, according to the brand, comes with exciting new features, enhanced customisation, and improved functionality. Meanwhile, the update is also said to be based on Android 13, so we hope to see Android 14 in the future. Now, let’s look at what the new update is bringing to the Nothing Phone 1.

Here Are the New Exciting Features Coming to Phone 1 with Nothing OS 2.0 Update

Home Screen Customization

1. Upgraded visual identity that feels unmistakably Nothing.
2. Updated launcher grid layout, supporting the option to hide icon labels.
3. More customization options for folders including different layouts and covers.

Nothing Widgets

1. Updated designs for the following widgets: Clock, Weather, and quick look.
2. New Quick Settings widget, allowing you to access settings even quicker.
3. Widgets are now available on the lock screen and AOD.

Glyph Interface

1. New Essential Glyph Notifications mean you never miss what matters most. Assign selected apps and contacts as essential so that when you receive a notification, a persistent Glyph will shine while the device is locked. That means you’ll know at a glance if you’ve missed any important notifications.
2. Glyph Torch. Long-press the Torch Quick Settings tile to light up the entire Glyph Interface.

New App Features

1. Cloned apps allow you to operate multiple accounts in the same app without having to log out.
2. App Locker lets you protect your apps by adding an extra level of security when you go to open them.

 Other Improvements

1. Updated auto brightness.
2. Many, many general improvements are needed to optimize your overall Phone (1) experience.
