The launch date for both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is October 4. But a new report suggests that the smartphones will have different release days.
The Pixel 2 will release on October 19, and the Pixel 2 Xl on November 15. Therefore, we have to wait for almost a month for the bigger phone! The report came from VentureBeat, referring to a person close to the release plans of Google.
Apple users are going through a similar experience. The gaps are a month-and-a-half between the release of the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
On the other hand, LG and Samsung have made it a routine to launch flagships during the first 6 months of the year. Whereas their high-end phablets launch in the later months.
How worthy is the Pixel 2 XL wait?
As per the extensive rumors, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have more differences, majorly in terms of appearance. Both the phones run on Android Oreo and are likely to have a 12mp camera.
They have a minimum of 4GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. According to a few leaks, the smartphones are waterproof and have front-firing stereo speakers.
The XL model sports a taller display and nearly bezel-less screens like the same of iPhone X. This leads the phone to have an 18:9 aspect ratio as well.
Additionally, the XL has a slightly better battery life than that of the Pixel 2. The two color variants are ‘just black’ and black and white.
Lastly, there are still speculations regarding the difference between the price tags of the two phones. This further makes the coming Google Pixel event interesting.
