Just last week, Google rolled out the March 2023 update for its Pixel Watch. The update is said to be the biggest one in the last three months as it comes with Watch Faces, Display, Touch, Settings, Alarms, and more.
Today, the tech giant has begun rolling out the Pixel Watch battery-saver quick settings toggle. This comes with the ability to quickly turn on/off Battery Saver. The battery settings toggle comes separately from the earlier March update.
Pixel Watch On and Off Battery Saver Quickly
As we know, previously, tapping the battery tile in Quick Settings would open a fullscreen page with the current percentage and indicator bar below. Here users would have to scroll to get to the Battery Saver switch, which added a few seconds to the task.
However, to enhance users’ experience, Google is now easing the ability to quickly turn on/off Battery Saver. The elliptical Quick Settings tile now functions as a toggle, turning Power Saving on and off with a single tap. The percentage of the battery that is currently in use is still shown.
Expressing her excitement about the new functionality, a Reddit user who confirmed Pixel Watch gets an easy way to Battery Saver Settings posted:
“Went to take my watch out of bedtime mode, hit the battery saver toggle and it actually activates battery saver instead of sending you through to the settings. Yay!”
Google first hinted at this functionality in December. There is now one report of a Pixel Watch owner getting the new Battery Saver toggle as reported by 9to5Google. Although the functionality is not widely available yet as most users are awaiting its appearance on their devices. Therefore, it might be regularly rolled out.
As we know the Pixel Watch is Google’s first smartwatch integrated into the company’s Fitbit health-tracking tech and hoping to take on Samsung and the dominant Apple Watch. The smartwatch was announced in October last year at a starting price of $350.
