POCO had previously promised that it would soon be launching the successor to the POCO M6 5G in India, on the 3rd of March 2025. They have stood on that very promise, as the POCO M7 5G has officially launched in India, and will be on sale exclusively via Flipkart from the 7th of March, 2025, 12PM IST. The company has equipped the device with comparatively lower-end specifications, similar to its predecessor, as the handheld is meant to be a more budget-friendly alternative.
POCO M7 5G: Specifications
Fitted with a 6.88 inch, 1600 x 720 pixels IPS LCD display (HD+ with a 20:9 aspect ratio), the POCO M7 5G comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of peak brightness. It comes with DC dimming, TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light (Software Solution), along with Flicker Free certifications.
The display has a noticeable water drop-style notch, housing an 8MP selfie camera. The rear in turn contains a 50 MP Sony IMX852 primary camera and a 2MP secondary lens. A side mounted fingerprint sensor makes an appearance, and the device is capable of a 150 percent volume boost.
Powering the entire device is Qualcomm’s Octa Core Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 4nm Mobile Platform (specifically 2.2GHz x 2 A78- based +2Ghz x 6 A55- based Kryo CPUs), with an Adreno 613 GPU providing the device with silky smooth multitasking capabilities. As for the memory configuration, the handset arrives in two options: a 6GB+128GB variant and an 8GB+128GB variant. The memory can be further expanded with the use of a microSD card, and there is up to 8GB virtual RAM support.
The smartphone runs on the Android 14-based HyperOS, with the company promising 2 years’ worth of Android updates and 4 years of security patches. The battery department gets 5,160 mAh of power, with 18W fast charging. However, it seems that the company is packing a 33W adapter in the box. Other miscellaneous features include an IP52 rating for basic splash resistance, 5G capabilities, dual SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device comes in three colour options: Satin Black, Mint Green, and Ocean Blue.
POCO M7 5G: Price
Going to sale exclusively on Flipkart, the POCO M7 5G’s price starts at 9,999 INR for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+128GB model goes for 10,999 INR. These are the sale prices for the devices; afterward (after March 7, 2025), the device will be available for 10,499 INR and 11,499 INR for the respective variants. Overall, the M7 5G is a great budget-friendly option, competing with other devices in the market, such as the Samsung Galaxy M06, the Moto G35, and the Realme C36 5G.
