Mukul Sharma on Twitter announced that Poco’s upcoming smartphone codenamed 211033MI received the Indian BIS certificate. This is only an indication of its imminent launch here in India. However, as is the case with any smartphone receiving certification, Poco has kept mum about its upcoming product. There has been no news or confirmation officially; however, receiving a certification, in a way, confirms the fact that the smartphone in question will get launched soon.
Since Poco has not revealed the name of the smartphone, and only the codename of the same is available. The netizens have reached a general consensus regarding the upcoming smartphone, and the upcoming POCO smartphone could either be the Poco M4 5G or the Poco X4. Interestingly, both smartphones are rumored to launch in India soon. There is one important piece of information provided by Mukul Sharma. In a reply to a tweet, he went as far as to mention that the upcoming smartphone will be mid-range. If that is the case, the smartphone could be Poco X4 since, as per the previous sources, the smartphone is expected to be pocket-friendly compared to the M4 5G. Poco X4 is expected to be priced at INR. 18999.
The Poco X4 runs on an octa-core Snapdragon 765G processor. The smartphone features a 6.67-inches of IPS LCD display screen. It is powered by a massive 6000mAh fast-charging battery. The smartphone’s rear side comes with a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP main shooter, an 8 MP lens, a 5MP lens, and a 2 MP lens. As for the front camera, the smartphone houses a 16MP camera. The X4 features 64GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage which could be expanded using a MicroSD card. For security, the smartphone features a fingerprint sensor.
On the other hand, we have Poco M4 which features a 6.53-inch display, three rear cameras (64MP+8MP+2MP), and a 13 MP front camera. Like the X4, this smartphone too runs on a 6000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 678.
The Poco X4 was scheduled to launch in India in November, and Poco M4 was supposed to launch in July/August.
It should be noted that it has not been confirmed that the upcoming smartphone is the Poco X4, but the available sources point towards that direction.
