In recent years, the automotive industry has been undergoing a remarkable transformation, as prominent auto brands are venturing into the uncharted territory of the smartphone industry. This shift is not merely a casual flirtation but a serious commitment, embodying a convergence of innovation and diversification that demands attention.

The renowned electric car giant, Tesla has long been developing its first smartphone and plans to release the same next year, 2024. Seeing Tesla moving to the industry, Swedish electric car brand Polestar has now announced plans to release its own smartphone alongside the brand’s first electric vehicle come December in China.

Thomas Inglath, Polestar’s CEO disclosed this today. According to him, the company plans to launch a smartphone with the brand name in December. He added that Polestar plans to start producing the electric vehicle Polestar 4 (Polestar 4) for the Chinese market this year and is expected to deliver it by the end of this year.

Polestar’s Smartphone is Coming this December

As announced by CEO Thomas Inglath, the upcoming Polestar’s smartphone is expected to arrive December this year in the Chinese market. The smartphone is said to be developed in partnership with smartphone maker Xingji Meizu, which is owned by Geely.

According to Thomas Ingenlath, the move is not primarily about taking market share, but about making the car look like a mobile phone on wheels and thus improving the user experience.

What Are We Expecting in Polestar’s Smartphone

During this year’s Chengdu Auto Show, Xingji Meizu Chairman and CEO Shen Ziyu said when talking about Polestar mobile phones that Polestar 4 will be upgraded to the Polestar OS smart cockpit system upon delivery.

In addition, the smartphone is also said to contain powerful sensors, storage, and computational capability. On the phone, users can improve vehicle technology. Therefore, we anticipate that the cell phone will come standard with the vehicle.

“We will only make one model and not others. Meizu already has many. The phone will be targeted at Polestar car owners and users who like the Polestar lifestyle, said Shen Ziyu.”

Additionally, he compared Huawei’s Porsche Design and stated that Polestar smartphones reach this level and sell for 10,000 yuan.

Polestar 4: Polestar’s First Electric Car Coming to China

The Polestar 4 is said to be the first electric car of the brand to be launched in China. The vehicle is a sports utility vehicle (SUV) coupe. It will be the company’s first car to be delivered in China, as it ramps up expansion in the world’s biggest electric vehicle market.

Shen Ziyu stated at the Chengdu Auto Show that Polestar 3 is comparable to the Porsche Cayenne and Polestar 4 is comparable to the Porsche Macan in terms of product series. The second SUV model from the company, the Polestar 4, is regarded as “the most important product this year.”has context menuComposeParagraph
