As part of its commitment to expand the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem and IoT use cases, today, the world’s semiconductor leader, Qualcomm has announced the launching of four new IoT solutions to support the development of next-generation IoT terminals namely, Qualcomm QCS8550, Qualcomm QCM8550, Qualcomm QCS4490, and Qualcomm QCM4490 processors.
With a wide range of capabilities, cutting-edge features, and adaptability, the new and improved solutions are designed to satisfy the requirements of demanding industrial and commercial IoT applications. The use cases across the solutions encourage the development of IoT ecosystems in important industries like cloud gaming, retail, and video collaboration.
Introducing New Performance-intensive IoT Applications with Qualcomm Processors
The new Qualcomm QCS8550 and Qualcomm QCM8550 processors are designed for performance-intensive IoT applications. To support and speed up the deployment of high-performance IoT applications, like autonomous mobile robots and commercial drones, the Qualcomm QCS8550 and Qualcomm QCM8550 processors combine powerful computing, edge-side AI processing, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and enhanced graphics and video capabilities.
These Qualcomm processors make use of the Qualcomm AI architecture. Additionally supporting improved video and graphics processing, the Qualcomm QCS8550 and Qualcomm QCM8550 enable immersive cloud gaming, video collaboration, and video streaming experiences.
Supporting A New Generation Of Industrial Handheld Terminals
On the other hand, the Qualcomm QCS4490 and Qualcomm QCM4490 processors are made to support a new generation of industrial handheld terminals. For industrial handheld devices and computing terminals, the Qualcomm QCS4490 and Qualcomm QCM4490 processors offer connectivity and next-generation processing features.
With 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, the technologies offer multi-gigabit transfer rates, greater coverage, reduced latency, and more processing capacity for difficult computing workloads. The Qualcomm QCS4490 and QCM4490 processors are designed to handle Android releases up to and including Android 18, which means that they can be utilized in industrial designs before 2030 and reduce development time and costs by offering more adaptable processors with longer product lives.
Taking IoT Ecosystem Forward
Speaking on the new IoT solutions, the Qualcomm processors, Qualcomm’s vice president, business development, and head of building, enterprise, and industrial automation, Dev Singh, said the firm is committed to taking the IoT ecosystem forward and the new solutions are here to achieve this.
In the future, the new Qualcomm Aware platform will also be compatible with the new Qualcomm processors named Qualcomm QCS4490 and Qualcomm QCM4490 processors, as well as the Qualcomm QCS8550 and Qualcomm QCM8550 processors.
