Ubisoft has confirmed at the E3 2019 conference the Rainbow Six Quarantine, the new installment of its popular multiplayer war saga, which will arrive sometime in 2020 for platforms yet to be confirmed. The title is basically a Rainbow Six Siege game focused on tactical elements and PvE for three players. The previous game, Rainbow Six Siege, had great success mainly as a sport, with competitive tournaments and championships.
According to the first details revealed, the arrival of this new release will not mean the end of Rainbow Six Siege, which is currently living one of its best moments. We are facing a title of exploration and action in space set in the universe of the Rainbow Six franchise. It will be a cooperative team shooter of three players developed by Ubisoft Montreal
Regarding the success of Rainbow Six Siege, it is worth remembering that it already has more than 45 million players (40% growth), and has been able to report more than 1000 million dollars in revenue to date. In addition, its presence in esports continues to grow and embraces a rise of 31% in hours seen.
Thinking now of the new generation of consoles, Ubisoft Montreal is not thinking now of launching a sequel, but of not fragmenting its huge community of more than 45 million players. We suppose by their words that they will try to guarantee the cross-play, but it is something that we can not confirm right now. “We do not want a sequel,” said Alexander Remy, brand manager of Rainbow Six, in a recent interview . “We do not want to segregate the community on different platforms.” Rainbow Six Siege is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
The trailer announced does not show much about the gameplay, but, you can already realize that we will not have generic soldiers as enemies. Along with Outbreak, Quarantine must present monsters, mutants, and zombies. At the end of the teaser, it’s possible to notice Ella and Vigil, two Siege characters, so we’ll probably control some of the protagonists introduced in the original.
