The much-awaited second phone from Realme has now been launched in India, Realme 2 Pro at a price tag of Rs. 13,990. The third Android smartphone in the Indian market offers fantastic value and is a great option for anyone looking to buy a new smartphone that offers a stunning design and powerful hardware.
The company’s smartphone launch event was streamed live via its Realme Facebook and YouTube pages. Updates were also available on the company’s official Twitter and Facebook handles. After being teased for quite a while it has finally been officially revealed; a sub-brand of Oppo. Hence, it wouldn’t be surprising to know that the new phone contains traits from the existing phone from the famed Chinese company, specifically the OPPO F9.
The Realme 2 Pro is the most budget-friendly smartphone in India to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 AIE octa-core processor. While Qualcomm has already introduced a successor to the Snapdragon 660, but it remains one of the most notable mid-range mobile chipsets.
Manufactured on a 14nm process, the Snapdragon 660 AIE is packed with 2.2GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU taking care of the graphics processing. The other budget Android smartphones powered by the same chipset below Rs.20, 000 available in the market are the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Vivo V9 Pro.
On the subject of cameras, Realme 2 Pro flaunts an AI dual camera with a 16MP 1/2.8-inch Sony IMX398 primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. These sensors have f/1.7 and f/2.2 aperture for improved bokeh performance. The camera has AI capabilities such as portrait mode, noise reduction, and AI scene recognition, AR stickers, AI Album and more. The camera supports 4K video capture at 30fps with features such as EIS.
According to the site, the Realme 2 Pro will be available in three colors – Blue Ocean, the Black Sea and Ice Lake with a starting price of Rs.13,990 for the base variant featuring 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and goes up to Rs.17,990 for the top-end configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As a Flipkart-exclusive product, the smartphone is set to go on sale in the country for the first time on October 11.
